A Passion For Words.

I love the way
That 'ocean'
sounds.
Like the rush
Of
Smooth sand
As foam
Explodes
Its hundredmillion
Fine-edged grains
In water-breathy ecstasy.
Oh, as the wave bears down
And then the long, sweet draw
Of shunnnn.
On and on,
Helpless in the face
Of that salty pull.

And 'hush',
I love hush.
That moment
When laughter
And whispers
And the play of your body
Over mine
Goes quiet,
No more words.
When your smile turns serious
And your eyes can hold no more waiting,
No more wanting.
That small moment
When your breath feathers
Over my lips
As you close down
On them,
'Hush'.

And 'passion.'
This word I love,
Holding as it does
My lust
For life
In every moment,
Every exquisite moment.
Living in drops of rain on blades of grass,
In the silvered ash
The moth leaves on my hands
As I cup it free
Into
Still
Blue
Night.
And in laughter,
Especially laughter.
The kind that falls
Like water
Into deep, dark pools.

And in you.

So many ways to frame this thing that drives me.
I hope that when I die
People will say,
You know
She had a passion
For life,
And a passion,
An absolute passion......
For words.
